May Happenings at the Library


Coloring & Cookies for Grownups
Friday, May 5 at 6:30 p.m.
The popular program continues on the first Friday of the month. Relax and have fun coloring and enjoying a treat. All materials provided, but feel free to bring your own if you prefer. Adults only, please.

Super Science Saturday
Saturday, May 6 at 9:00 a.m.
Learn and have fun with hands on experiments. May's topic is Geology. Ages 6 - 12.

NEW PROGRAM: Sing-Along Afternoon
Monday, May 8 at 2:00 p.m.
The Haltom City Public Library and the Haltom City Senior Center are joining forces to offer this fun program for all ages! Sing along to your favorite musical. Free popcorn and lyrics sheets will be provided.  May's movie will be The Music Man. All ages welcome.

Family Movie Night - The Secret Life of Pets
Monday, May 8 at 6:30 p.m.
Enjoy a movie with the family and free popcorn! May's Family Movie will be the Secret Life of Pets.

SPECIAL EVENT: IT CAN WAIT Simulator
Friday, May 19 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Please join AT&T for its It Can Wait simulator tour kickoff event. The simulator will be set up in the library. Test out the campaign's virtual reality simulator to experience firsthand why no post, glance, email, search, or text is worth a life. Remember: You're never alone when you are on the road. All ages.

Haltom City Garden Club's Annual Plant Sale & Swap, Craft Show, and Workshops
Saturday, May 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Don't miss the Garden Club's Annual event! There will be a plant swap and sale, garden craft sale, gardening workshops and a bee program for children.

Teen Advisory Board
Wednesday, May 31 at 4:00 p.m.
Calling all High School students! Voice your opinions about teen programs at the library! Earn a community service hour and enjoy a snack. The Teen Advisory Board will meet monthly on the last Wednesday of each month.

Burgers & Bingo at the Senior Center
The library is also selling tickets to Burgers and Bingo (May 19 at 6:30 p.m.), a fundraiser benefiting Friends Helping Friends Senior Transportation Program. Tickets are $25.00.  The fundraiser will be at the Senior Center at 5000 Berniece Street. There will be a silent auction and bake sale. Call 817.834.8021 for more information.

Ladies' Night Out Tickets are now available! Get your ticket before June 17 to take advantage of the $39 early bird price ($45 after June 17) and be entered into the Early Bird Drawing the night of the event.
